A PLATEAU WITH GREEN MEADOWS, BETWEEN VENETO AND TRENTINO.

Lessinia and its trails

lessinia and its trails

Lessinia, a plateau between Veneto and Trentin

Less than an hour from Lake Garda and the city of Verona. Locanda Alpina is located in Sega di Ala, a historic border point between the two regions, and can be reached in 20 minutes from the Adige Valley and in about 45 minutes from the Verona motorway junctions. Lessinia is a natural and rural landscape of over 10,000 hectares, characterised by beautiful panoramas over the Po Valley and the Little Dolomites.
Famous for its karst phenomena and its Cimbrian tradition, this land is particularly appreciated for its accessibility for light trekking on foot or by mountain bike, with many trails and routes crossing it far and wide.

From Sega di Ala to the Busoni and Monte Corno

One of the classic trails in the Trentino Lessinia, allowing everyone, even untrained people, to enjoy all the absolutely interesting landscapes and environments. Starting from the Locanda Alpina in Sega di Ala, take the paved road toward Villaggio San Michele and the Camping al Faggio underneath it, then take a left and follow the indications for the Malga delle Cime and Passo della Morte…

Ala forests and alpine huts

The dirty roads connecting the alpine huts, north-east of Sega di Ala, are crossed every year by hundreds of hikers and trekkers, seeking for open landscapes and cool forests. This trail connects the amazing Cornafessa and Lavacchione alpine huts, passing through the charming beech forest that houses the massive Regina Beech…

Ala forests and alpine huts - Castelberto variant

The fittest trekkers can opt for a pleasant variant that will take them to the peak of Monte Castelberto, on the border between Trentino and Veneto; from the Lavacchione alpine hut, instead of going down toward the Sawmill, follow the indications for the Revoltel alpine hut…

Passo delle Fittanze and Sentiero dei Ladri

The alpine huts and forests east of Sega di Ala mark this picturesque trail, characterized by broad views and unique natural and anthropic peculiarities.
After climbing up the Sega di Ala town, along the biking trail, turn to the right after the basketball court, and take the signalled trail, which, through irregular pastures, leads to a series of springs, partly underground…

La Lama: rock climbing

A little-known, yet – according to climbers – exceptionally beautiful site is La Lama, a rock face of grey limestone that rises at 1100 meters for several tens of meters, in the most impervious side of the Val Fredda, below Sega di Ala’s town.
